(e.g. insulated magnet wire) Yes, as long as the wire is contained within the enclosure for the custom circuit board. ----- ER ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 16:05:53 -0500 From: FIRST Team Support Subject: Re: transport You may transport the robot to the drayage facility (storing area) yourselves, but not the event (in any circumstance). This is new from last year. The drayage facility information will be posted within the next few days. A) Yes, you may transport your robot to the local drayage site for the 1st regional you attend. If you are attending subsequent events your robot must be shipped from site to site directly. Please note ship (out of hands) deadline: Your robot must out of the team's hands -- either in a shipping company's possession, or at the drayage company designated for your event by 5p.m. local time on Tuesday, February 19, 2002. Drayage site arrival deadline: There is also a deadline for robot arrival at the drayage company. Your robot must be delivered to the designated drayage company by 5p.m. local time on the Monday prior to your event. Refer to the web site for the date for the robot arrival deadline for each event in which you participate. If so, where is the storing area for the Cleveland regional and contact person? A) That information will be on the FIRST website (http://www.usfirst.org) in a few days. Please check there for you information. --- FIRST MRT ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 4 Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 21:18:47 -0000 From: "frcengineers" Subject: Re: LED Panel Mounts > What are the LED Panel Mounts included in the Parts Kit for? A) The LEDs provided in the kit are for use on the robot or for use on the Operator Interface side of the control system. They may be used for decoration or to provide useful feedback to your team. For example, you could use an LED on the driver's side in conjuntion with a sensor on the robot to indicate when your robot has successfully attached to a goal. You are not required to use the LEDs. ----- ER ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 5 Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2002 11:54:03 -0000 From: "hall294" Subject: Goal vertical steel posts: worst case spacing tolerance ? Please specify the worst case spacing construction tolerance that may be expected in competition between adjacent vertical steel posts at the lower level and at the higher level (if different) for the same pair (deviation from parallel). ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 6 Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 21:22:52 -0000 From: "frcengineers" Subject: Re: Goal vertical steel posts: worst case spacing tolerance ? > Please specify the worst case spacing construction tolerance > that may be expected in competition > between adjacent vertical steel posts > at the lower level and > at the higher level (if different) > for the same pair (deviation from parallel). A) All tolerances are +/- 1/4". --- FIRST MRT ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 7 Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2002 21:00:36 -0000 From: "jhnnynothing" Subject: Flywheels Team 842 asks, May we use a flywheel as an energy storage device? ie. may our battery spin up a flywheel and and use the power from the flywheel to power other devices, so long as it does not increase our voltage, amp- hours, or interfer with the electronics? A) No. Robots may not contaminate the balls with lubricants. See Rule DA2. ----- ER ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 9 Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2002 21:48:45 -0000 From: "frcengineers" Subject: Re: Flywheels > May we use a flywheel as an energy storage device? ie. may our > battery spin up a flywheel and and use the power from the flywheel to > power other devices, so long as it does not increase our voltage, amp- > hours, or interfer with the electronics? A) You can use a flywheel, but you can not start spinning it up until the robot is enabled at the start of the match. Please note that if it proves to be a safety hazard, the referee will ask you to change it before you are allowed to compete in another match. Remember that when your robot is disabled, the flywheel should not cause any part of the robot to move for an excessive lenght of time as determined by the referee. More than 10 seconds would be excessive, please see rule SC1. --- FIRST MRT ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Your use of Yahoo!
