A) You can use all of the motors in the 2002 Kit of Parts.  You

  ok this year it sais that you cannot reuse mechanisms from last 
year on this years robot, it concures this for all individual parts 
as well, but the way i see it they cannot tell the difference between 
theparts from this year and last year. so as long as you don't 
violate the quantity rules specified in the manual there is really 
nothing wrong with useing last years parts. remember no assemblies 
from previous robots only parts.

last year.  Do not exceed the specified quantities and absolutely no

According to Update #1, "Timing belt" has been changed to "Belt -- 
any size, any length for use with pullies."  However, there is 
another entry which is "Chain/Belt -- any length."  Does this mean 
that any belt, such as conveyor belt, can be used anywhere (for 
example, on wheels or a surface of the robot)?

I have a question about the starting position of robots on the 
field.  Say for example I was robot A.  Do I need to keep my control 
system in station A, and do I need to start my robot in position A?  
I know how finals work, but what about during the qualifying

A concern has been raised that there is a potential for carpet 
bunching.  This year the game has been designed to include power 
struggles.  This will take place on carpet that has not been glued 
down.  Will leniency be granted for robots in a shoving match 
bunching up the carpet?

A) The field and goal drawings are on the FIRST website as PDF 
files.  The field drawing that is out there shows field layout and is 
not the detailed drawing for constructing the old-style field nor the
