Notes From Justin - Jan 17th, 2002

Next Meeting is Saturday January 19th @ 0900 hours (9:00 am), weather
permitting. There is NO meeting on Friday January 18th.
Once again I would like to congradulate everyone, we are on schedule for the
first time ever. Let's keep up the good work.
Dave needs all SPI orders by 1000 hours tomorrow, Friday January 18th so we
can have everything ready by Saturday
Make sure you have registered with SME (www.first-sme.org)
Now that we are at the build stage, everyone needs to make extra sure of
safety procedures and keeping the shop clean
There is a meeting on Monday, January 21st @ 1200 hours
Last call for people who want to be the coach

Reminder to remind your parents about the Parent's Information Meeting on Saturday@ 0900 hours.
The goal is to have the individual groupo designs presented and voted upon on Friday, make sure this happens.
Study the rules, there is a test on Saturday

Notes from Justin - Jan 3rd, 2002

There is NO official team meeting tonight, Thursday Jan 3rd. But, for any team members that have not gone through shop training there will be a session on Thursday January 3th at 1900 hours (7:00 pm)
-Next meeting is on Saturday, January 5th at 0900 hours (9:00 am) in the drama room. I expect everyone to be there so we can all watch the FIRST Kickoff together.
There will also be a meeting on Sunday, January 6th at 1300 hours (1:00 pm). This meeting is for the first stages of brianstorming and strategy forming.
Expect that we will have a meeting every day next week from 1900-2200 hours (7:00-10:00 pm)
Another reminder that everyone should have their own pair of safety goggles. I have seen a lot of "borrowing" of goggles and this will become quite hasslesome during the competition season.
I will attempt to keep administrative meetings down to two a week, one on Monday and one on Thursday.
I expect everyone to use our meeting/building time efficiently. Those who do not will be asked to go home. There will no horsing around!
Please make honest efforts to keep the shop clean, you do not want to make Mike unhappy and go "postal".

Greetings once again. Happy New Year, I hope everyone had a very enjoyable
Holiday break and are prepared to start the FIRST competition season. Here
are some notes to remember:

For any team members that have not gone through shop training there will be
a session on Thursday January 4th at 1900 hours (7:00 pm)
Next meeting is on Saturday, January 5th at 0900 hours (9:00 am) in the
drama room. I expect everyone to be there so we can all watch the FIRST

There will also be a meeting on Sunday, January 6th at 1300 hours (1:00 pm).

Lots of notes to go through here, sorry guys. I am trying to get these emails onto a regular schedule. I will try my best to send one out on Thursday night after the meeting and Wednesday a day before the next meeting. Here we go:

Next meeting is Thursday, December 13th at 1900 hours in the shop
A NONREFUNDABLE $100 deposit will be due on December 13th for all those who are planning on going to Florida including guests

We (as a team) need to decided on a name for this years robot, so please be thinking about that. Any nominations must be emailed to me be next Thursday's meeting, we will vote on the name then.
Also, any new ideas for a logo must be in by next Thursday
Any one interested in watching the lathe videos, here is the info on that:
The first part of the lathe training will be at my house at 12:00pm this sun. Dec. 9 and will run to about 6. Directions to my house are below.

go down to the second light and turn left onto Hiddenbrook Rd.
take the first right and go down to the stop sign.
take a left at the stop sign onto Rock Ridge Rd.
continue until you see the house number "12590".
That is my house.
Things that Matt and I expect to be done be each subgroup by the end of December:
- Elect Subgroup Captain (next meeting)
- Detailed Scale Drawing of your system (multiple drawings are needed for multiple designs)
- Plans that work for a multiple of scenerios or a plan for each different scenerio
- An explaination of how your system works
- How yopur new design improves tht same system on last year's robot
