Membership
Any student at Herndon High School may participate provided that they meet attendence and behavioral standards.
- Every member must have participated in an engineer-run shop training and safety instructional session.
- No member may miss more than four meetings during the course of design and construction (from the kickoff meeting to the National Competition). If a member has exceeded the four absense limit and feels that the team should make an exception, he or she may make an appeal. Appeals shall be considered and judged by a three person panel, consisting of the two student co-captains (the industry and ancillary co-captains, discussed below) and a faculty advisor.
- Members must contribute substantially to the design and construction of the robot. Evaluations of member participation shall be determined by the subsystem leaders. Subsystem leader evaluations may be appealed to the appeal panel discussed above. Evaluations of the subsystem leaders shall be made by the members of the relevant subsystem team. These evaluations may also be appealed to the appeal panel discussed above. All decisions of the appeal board will be considered final.
