We will have a school bus to take everyone to the airport from Herndon High School on April 4th. ****IMPORTANT, you MUST ATTEND SCHOOL THAT DAY OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO TO FLORIDA (no refunds)****
Luggage will be stored before school in the Science Lounge (by Mr. Tripp’s room).
*** GUESTS MAY TAKE THE BUS OR MEET US AT THE GATE AT 12:00 NOON ***
*** You MUST BRING a packed LUNCH for the airport, since you will not be eating at school, no meal will be served on the flight, and there will not be time to eat at the airport.***
***Students will need to be picked up at Dulles on Sunday night April 8th

The following baggage size limitations (inches per bag) apply per bag as follows:

Florida Transportation Information
Mears Transportation will be taking us from the airport to the hotel on Wednesday.
On Sunday, they will pick us up at the Magic Kingdom Disney park at 5pm in one of the first 4 bus slots (you can ask any Disney employee where the Mears bus slots are). They will bring us back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and then to the airport.
On the days of the event (Thurs, Fri, Sat) Disney will supply shuttle bus service between the hotel and EPCOT Center (no other parks). It will run from one hour before robotic activities start until one hour after EPCOT closes. Buses will run approximately every 30 minutes.
On non-event days (Wed and Sun) the hotel supplies very limited shuttle service between the hotel and Magic Kingdom (no other parks). We will need to check the schedule upon arrival.

The hotel features 2 heated pools (bring a swim suit), a game room, and LIMITED transportation to and from the Disney parks. There will be additional transportation to/from Epcot on competition days.
We will be checking out Sunday morning, but not leaving for the airport until late afternoon. They have a luggage room where we can store our suitcases. Also, since they have limited transportation to and from the park you will need to pay EXTRA CLOSE ATTENTION to the schedule.
You will have three breakfast coupons and three lunch OR dinner coupons. Obviously this will not be enough to feed you for all 5 days, so you will need to bring additional money for food.
You will have a 4-day park pass which can be used at EPCOT, MGM Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom. Since we will be there for 5 days and your park pass is only for 4, then you need to plan accordingly. The competition ends on Saturday and Sunday is open for attending the parks. Make sure that you do not use up all of the days before Sunday. You do not have to use your pass 4 days in a row.
NEW THIS YEAR-- in the past you could only use the park pass for the four parks listed above, but now you may use ONE DAY ONLY for EITHER Disney Quest or one of the water parks (Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach). You cannot use it for more than one day and you may only use it for one of the "specialty" parks.

Phone calls from your room ARE NOT FREE. Each and every local and 800 phone call from your room costs $1.17. If you decide to call home from your room, the cost is in the range of $5.00 plus for the first minute alone. I recommend that if you plan to speak to your parents, call from a pay phone (calling cards are a good deal) and/or plan to have them call you. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING ANY AND ALL PHONE CHARGES MADE FROM YOUR ROOM AT THE TIME OF CHECK OUT!!!!
There is no charge for room to room calls or to the front desk
Check out time is on Sunday at 12:00 Noon. At that time you will be responsible for paying any fees accrued in your room (i.e., phone calls). If you did not accrue any fees, then you do not need to check out at the front desk.
You can leave your luggage in the luggage room located across from the front desk. We will be brought back as a group from Magic Kingdom to collect our luggage prior to going to the airport.
** YOUR PARENTS MUST PICK YOU UP FROM THE AIRPORT SUNDAY NIGHT ** Regarding the time your parents should pick you up at the airport, tell them to monitor the flight times by calling Delta Air Lines 1-800-221-1212 option 2. Sometimes flights arrive earlier or later than scheduled. Once again, our return flight number is 2492.
