Regional Competition

March 8 - 10, 2001, located in Richmond, VA. The "flight team" and the "pit crew" will be departing Wednesday March 7th after school, and will be staying until the completion of the tournament. The remaining members as well as family and friends are invited to attend on Saturday March 10th to see the finals. In previous years carpools or a school bus were arranged for Saturday's transportation. More information coming.

National Comptetition

April 5 - 7, 2001, located at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center in Kissimmee, FL. We fly out on Wednesday April 4th and return very late on Sunday April 8th. The good news is that Spring Break begins the next day, so the students will not need to worry about getting up for school. Currently, we are awaiting the release of hotel packages from Disney and will soon be collecting names for preferred "roommates". Students need to begin congregating into groups of four (same sex) who would like to room together. Consider this group placement as being permanent. Adult volunteers need to think about whether or not they are planning to come and if they will be bringing guests and how many. If you are planning to come and are NOT bringing any guests, then think about what other adult volunteer you would like to room with (you have two to a room).

Students and adult volunteers will be asked to make a contribution toward the cost of the Florida trip (last year it was $250). Guests (spouses, parents, grandparents, and siblings) are welcome to attend by paying full price (last year this was approximately $600 to $800 per person, depending on the rooming arrangements). This includes round trip air travel, bus transportation to/from the hotel, hotel stay, bus transportation to/from competition, and most (but not all) meals. We need to know everyone interested in POSSIBLY attending by Thanksgiving, and a firm commitment (i.e., payment) will need to be made in early 2001. We will be updating this site and Jeffrey will be collecting names soon.
