_Robot Interaction/Game Strategy_
Put one robot on each side of field.
Robots should work as an alliance (?).
All robots should complete round on ramps (at least).
One alliance partner should immediately go for both black balls on far side.
Blocking will be crucial in last few seconds--should be able to defend the ramp.
Steal balls from opponent's trough.
If bar is obstructed, use last few seconds to remove opponent's balls from trough.
May have to grab bar early to ensure an open space.
Horde green balls; keep them until last seconds. (Risky)
If one robot has many balls, other robot should run interference
Control of green balls is very, very important.
Dominating the ramp can be important.
_Drivers/Coaches_
Use the two minutes before the match to plan strategy with your alliance.
Ability to turn and move quickly is major asset.
Need a coach to count balls in troughs.
Not necessarily good to have both robots doing the same thing.
Coaches and drivers need to understand who is controlling whom.
_Human Players_
Might be useful to throw balls to robot while it is near the goal.
Shoot toward goal--even if you miss, the ball is near the goal.
After shooting balls, keep count of balls in chute.
_Robot Design_
Robot should be able to catch/carry balls when far from base.
Robot should be able to collect multiple balls at once.
Should have capability to knock balls out of goal (or steal them and put into own trough).
Speed is good.
Move many balls toward goal, then put them in as a group.
Design should be robust for when you're on the bar.
Robot that can help human player shoot into trough.
Use bumpers to block other robots from trough.
Ball handling mechanism doubles as hook for bar.
Robot should be able to carry many balls from human player.
Might be good to have a robot that specializes in blocking the ramp (bonus: early on--collect balls and present to alliance partner)
Robot needs to be versatile -- can't tell what alliance partner capabilities will be.
Robot that could shoot balls into goal from a distance.
Robot that (from ramp) transfer balls from one trough to another.
Going low is major advantage.
Fallback strategies:
1) Grab bar
2) Get on ramp
3) Pick up alliance partner (or be picked up)
First 1.5 minutes--score as much as possible
Last 0.5 minutes--knock opponent balls out and position on ramp
